A Warm "Hello" to the New Academic Year: The Traditional Welcome Tea

Updated Date: 06 October 2025

The Pamukkale University (PAU) Department of English Language and Literature made a warm start to the new academic year on Monday, September 22, 2025. The traditional welcome tea, titled "Let's Par-tea," was held in the peaceful atmosphere of the garden behind A Block to welcome new students and bring together current students with the academic staff.

Held on a sunny autumn day, the event attracted great interest from students and academics. The gathering, which took place in a sincere and energetic atmosphere, offered a perfect opportunity, especially for first-year students, to adapt more quickly to the department and their friends. Students and faculty members found the chance to chat and socialize outside the classroom setting.

A Special Stand from the Student Magazine, HALO

One of the most remarkable highlights of the event was the stand set up by HALO, the monthly magazine published through the dedicated efforts of the department's students. The team from HALO, which is also supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and has quickly become the voice of the department, introduced the magazine's goals and content for the new term at their carefully prepared stand. The stand, featuring handmade decorations, magazine bookmarks, and various promotional materials, drew great attention from attendees. This special corner once again showcased the creative and productive spirit of the students in the department.

The event, where students and academic staff came together like a family, concluded with the taking of many commemorative photos. The successfully completed welcome tea provided a hopeful and motivating start to the 2025-2026 academic year.
