Students of the Laboratory and Veterinary Health Program of the Department of Veterinary at Pamukkale University, Acıpayam Vocational School, visited the exhibition “Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out,” which has been displayed in 34 countries and 140 different cities, accompanied by departmental academic staff members Lecturer Dr. Mehmet Başeğmez and Lecturer Duygu Yüksel, with transportation support provided by the Acıpayam Municipality.
At this world-renowned exhibition, students had the opportunity to closely and thoroughly examine the bodies of real animals that had died of natural causes, preserved and prepared using the plastination technique. Body Worlds, which offers an in-depth exploration of animal biology, anatomy, and physiology, enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of animal anatomy and diversity.
Following the comprehensive visit to the exhibition—an experience of great importance for enhancing students’ vision, academic knowledge, and career development—the group also visited the Islamic Civilizations Museum of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Directorate of National Palaces, where sacred relics of Islamic civilization are exhibited. At the museum, students had the opportunity to examine more than six hundred artifacts dating from the 7th to the 19th centuries, selected from the collections of Topkapı Palace, the Palaces Collections, the Istanbul Archaeology Museums, Istanbul Mausoleums, the General Directorate of Foundations, and the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts.
The trip concluded with a visit to Nakkaştepe National Garden, a 90,000-square-meter area operated by the Üsküdar Municipality, where the group took commemorative photographs with a panoramic view of the Bosphorus.
