The comprehensive academic outputs of the TÜBİTAK 2237-A supported "Awareness Training on the Use of Digital Agriculture Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture," successfully held between July 1-3, 2026, hosted by the Pamukkale University Çal Vocational School Digital Agriculture Technologies Program and coordinated by Lect. Dr. Çiğdem ELGİN KARABACAK, have been published.
Bringing together curious youth from all over the country with expert academics and sector representatives, the event's outcomes were published under the title "Training Final Declaration and Panel Notes" following theoretical training sessions, drone field applications, and a panel session where the challenges of digital agriculture were addressed.
During the panel session, discussions focused on how structural and demographic obstacles encountered in agricultural production (land fragmentation, aging producer population) can be overcome through cooperativization and shared machinery usage models. While emphasizing the importance of insurance systems like TARSİM and data-driven decision support mechanisms against the devastating risks brought by climate change, the strategic role of advanced technologies in agriculture, such as Digital Twin, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), and cybersecurity, was thoroughly addressed.
The declaration, serving as a strong academic prescription presented for Turkey's agricultural digitalization vision, acts as a roadmap for all stakeholders in the digital agriculture ecosystem through its valuable scientific outputs produced in the field.
Aiming not only to create awareness but also to contribute to the cultivation of a multidisciplinary young human resource capable of understanding digital technologies, interpreting data, and developing innovative solutions, the report has now taken its place on the project's website.
