"2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards" organized by YÖK found their owners. Pamukkale University Faculty of Education was awarded the green flag award in the category of Accessibility in Education for 2022.

The winners of the 2022 Barrier-Free Universities Awards, which were organized to encourage the creation of a barrier-free ecosystem in universities, were announced by YÖK President Erol Özvar at a ceremony held at YÖK.

As a result of the intensive efforts of Faculty Secretary Mustafa Mızrak and Special Education Department Lecturer Research Assistant Gizem Ergin, the Faculty of Education won the Accessibility in Education (Green Flag) award, which is given to support and encourage the work done in universities that provide a certain level of supportive information, documents, course tools and materials at various stages of the education provided in order to realize the natural educational rights of disabled students in a qualified manner.

Barrier-Free University Awards were given in two areas: Barrier-Free University Flags and Barrier-Free Program Awards. Barrier-Free University Flags were evaluated in three categories: "accessibility in space (orange flag)", "accessibility in education (green flag)" and "accessibility in socio-cultural activities (blue flag)".

This year, a total of 1074 applications were made from 114 universities for the Barrier-Free University Awards. According to the evaluation results made by 34 panelists; 84 universities were entitled to receive a total of 384 flags. Of these flags, 226 were the 'orange flag' for 'accessibility in space', 105 were the 'green flag' for 'accessibility in education' and 53 were the 'blue flag' for 'accessibility in socio-cultural activities'. A total of 43 program awards were given to 12 universities.
